Franeen McDonald holds a degree in Psychology and Social Work, a Master's Degree in Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy (CBT), a Certificate in Child- and Play Therapy, a Certificate in Family and Divorce Mediation and a Certificate in
Neuro Linguistic Programming, Time Line Therapy ™ and Hypnosis. She is also qualified in Brainspotting. She did various
post graduate courses in Child and Family Counselling and engages in Continued Professional Development.
As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy
(MBACP), she adheres to their code of ethics and practice. She has an advanced CRB check and trained
to work with child protection issues.
She has experience
in counselling children and families since 1986 and has worked in a variety of medical, voluntary and local authority sectors.
She has set up her Child and Family Counselling Practice, AchievingGoals…Now!, in 2005. Prior to this she had her own
very successful private Practice as a Family Coach and Child- & Play Therapist in South Africa. She currently not only
sees many private clients for counselling at her office in Cheltenham, but also consults at various schools in Gloucestershire
where she does child and teenage counselling.
is also employed as an External Counsellor for Occupational Health at Gloucestershire's County Council.
